Europe’s Energy Reset
The war in the Gulf has brought energy risk back to the centre of European politics. As oil prices rise again and new pressure builds around global supply routes, the European Commission’s latest energy package suddenly looks less like a technical policy update and more like a strategic response to a new era of instability.
Brussels is now trying to connect lower bills, domestic clean power, stronger grids and strategic autonomy into one single agenda. The message is clear: Europe can no longer treat affordability, resilience and energy sovereignty as separate goals. This is also a response to growing criticism from many Member States over excessively high energy costs for consumers.
In our new analysis, we look at why this matters now, what the Commission is proposing, and how the new push on investment, infrastructure and clean technologies fits into a broader industrial and security strategy.
